Okay horror fans, something a little different from the DOLLS here; I was recently sent a lovely little graphic story scripted by Don Smith. I love this tidy little gem, and being a bit of an “inker” myself of course adore the ink and illustrations; really ties it all together quite nicely.

Meet Elle Zee, Ghost Investigator extraordinaire; sexy, sophisticated and smart. This sassy little ghost story is beautifully created with awesome pencils by Joseph Regis, inks by K.M. Haugen and cover by Joseph Regis and Bill Anderson…quite a neat and tidy little team. As if that isn’t enough, Elle is based on real-life Ghost Investigator, Linda Zimmermann.

Created in the old film noir style, this story is short and to the point. Nothing really different from many other ghost stories, except our hero happens to be a she and comes nicely dressed in coat, fedora and heels to exorcise any nasty old ghosts still hanging around where they shouldn’t be.  In this particular story, we have a family with a ghost. And who do they call? Nope, not Ghostbusters, rather, Ms. Zee, who admittedly “likes to stick her nose in dark corners” and at the end of her day, weave us a nice little story she pulls from “the cobwebs of her hat”.

Jim and Alice have just bought a house and all seems well. Until their son Mark discovers a ghost sitting in their living room chair.  Seems that Sam, the previous owner blew his brains out with a shot-gun years ago and has returned…but why and for what reason? Ahhh, but to find that out, you’re gonna have to read the rest…no spoilers here. Oh, and this is a story you can share with the kiddees!

Loved it!
